Next to Normal

For Next to Normal I was tasked with technical designing and rigging two large ‘house cubes.’ These cubes were made out of 1.5” square box tube and covered in 1/4” MDF. Each cube had a window made of plexi glass that was covered in an orange film. The windows were lit by LED lights around the edges. Projectors mounts were added to the interior of the cubes for the purpose of projecting on the back wall. The walls were then stiffened with two 3” square box tube which was rigged to chain motors. Load cells were used during the production to monitor the weight distribution on the chain motors. I really enjoyed this project because I was able able to refine my ability to lead teams and plan the load in of the unit.
