In The Amazon Warehouse Parking Lot

Written By Sara Mantell

Directed By Sivan Battat

In the not-so-distant future, a group of warehouse workers travel from job to job, running from the encroaching coastlines and searching for missing loved ones. Both tender and rebellious, In the Amazon Warehouse Parking Lot is a revolutionary new play about finding family and unexpected love in a volatile world.

Roll Drums, Boxes & Trains

An important part of this design required a “conveyor belt” to transport boxes over the stage, sometimes during scenes and other times during transitions. We eventually decided to achieve this effect by using garden scale model trains. It’s kinda fun when a part of your job is playing with model trains.

An additional effect in this show involved a 20 foot long garage door that opened and closed during the show. We achieved this effect by painting a fabric drop with Jaxsan and attaching it to a roll drum that was power by a Creative Connors Push-Stick motor.
